he Hoyt House enjoyed our Red Hat Ladies group for English Tea. Purple & Red was the dress of choice. They all enjoyed Kate’s Tea featuring a freshly made scone & crumpet with fresh fruit, English clotted cream and jam. We so loved to see the outfits and glamour of the women that came to the house.

Hoyt House Bar & Lounge

The Hoyt House Bar & Lounge is now officially open!. An English pub the Amelia Lounge has authentic stained glass and cherry wood, featuring The Amelia Martini using Dragon Fruit Vodka. It is awesome. Have a seat at one of the pub tables, or enjoy the pool & water fall while sipping your favorite summer drink. Grab your pistachio nuts while they last!

We are thrilled at this nomination and are so honored to be apart of an active and supportive Chamber of Commerce. Thank-you for this nomination and we look forward the the annoucement of the winner on April 21.
Amelia Island Beaches

Amelia Island Main Beach is open with a great new concept from Sandy Bottoms Bar & Grill. They new have tables and chairs on the Beach! Myrta & I had Killer Whale on tap and some wonderful appetizers. The picture is the main beach from where we were sitting. People were swimming and the waves were awesome. A great treat for us and our guests. A must do when on Amelia Island.

Passover Seder at The Hoyt House will be our First Seder with all the traditions and festivities of Pesach. Myrta & I are excited to bring this family tradition to our home. All the trimmings like Homemade Potato Latka’s with Applesauce & Homemade Matzah Ball Soup. We hope you will join us April 19th at Sunset when we will begin our first of many Seder’s at our home The Hoyt House, Shalom.

The Hoyt House Bed & Breakfast is pleased to offer English Tea from 12:30pm to 3pm daily Wednesday through Sunday to the public and staying guests. We have put together an amazing and authentic menu with scones & freshly made crumpets, jams & clotted cream flown in from England. A variety of tea sandwiches, Salmon Mousse pinwheels, truffled mushroom in filo and fresh made fruit tartlets just to name a few. We also have a cheese & cracker tray with pate and tea sandwiches. Guests will pick from a choice of eight loose teas served in their very own tea pot from around the world. Enjoy an authentic Bellini Cocktail, Bloody Mary, Mimosa or Classic Champagne & Strawberries before your tea and crumpets is served on a beautiful silver three tier tray. Reservations are required. Monday & Tuesday is available for private tea parties for 8 or more. Prices vary from 9.95pp to 22.95 pp with a special Tea for Two at 39.95. A lovely affair for those who want to enjoy Tea & Crumpets in a 105 year old Victorian Mansion.
Amelia Island Murder Mystery

Murder Mystery Dinner at The Hoyt House now as three more Killer Murder Mystery Weekends for you all to enjoy. We had a fabulous time on our first one, so we have put together three more dates this year. April 1-2, October 29-30th, December 30-31, 2011. We are thinking that the Halloween Murder Mystery you will get who you will be early and be dressed for the Murder. Best dressed couple receives Two Nights on our Yacht Nice Aft for all our Murder Mystery Dinners. New Year’s Eve Murder Weekend will be a special event, where the roaring 20′s will be the theme. Murder Mystery Success

We had a fabulous time hosting our first Murder Mystery Weekend. All the guests enjoyed the ghost tour Friday Night and Saturday Night the actors and guests really got into the moment. Especially Frank Sinatra, and he sounded just like him! Everyone exchanged emails and addresses. Dinner was great with Crab Bisque Soup and Gourmet Salad, Stuffed Rock Cornish Hens and finally Chocolate Ganache Cake. Take a look at some of the pictures.
