Christmas on Amelia Island
December 10th, 2011 by Deborah Gold
Christmas on Amelia Island is full of warm hospitality and gracious living. Most of the island and including the National Historic District is decorated in Holiday spirit. Take a carriage ride through the area and see some amazing 19th century mansions dressed in its glory. Dining on the island could not be better with some incredible chefs working overtime to make this holiday so very special. The Ritz Carlton had a huge private ship made out of gingerbread. A must see if you come the the Island. Sit on our porch swing and enjoy some warm apple cider and Egg Nog at The Hoyt House. Happy Holidays and a Healthy New Year to All!
Murder Mystery on Amelia Island
November 1st, 2011 by Deborah Gold
The Hoyt House Murder Mystery Weekend was awesome. We had guests play there parts to the hilt. Elvis was in a full head to toe costume and Jimmy Hendrix was very cool with a plastic blow up guitar. There was laughing and screaming in the dining room and all had a great time. The stuffed Rock Cornish Hens were perfect with Asparagus & Hollandaise and Rice Pilaf. The crab bisque was to die for. If you didn’t catch this one, join us next time on January 27th-28th 2012 for what will be our 4th Annual Murder Mystery Dinner. Twenty guests arrive but only nineteen leave.
